Alicia Hein serves as the Assistant Director for the First Gen Hawks program in the Pathways to Excellence office and has been a part of the team since July 2025. In her role, she oversees the program’s peer mentor component, including peer mentor recruitment, training, and supervision. She is deeply passionate about developing engaging and impactful opportunities to help students connect with one another and to help them meet and exceed their goals.

A proud second-generation Hawkeye graduate, Alicia earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and International Relations from the University of Iowa. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University. Prior to joining the Pathways to Excellence team, Alicia has worked in Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Iowa and as an academic coach at Kirkwood Community College.

In her free time, Alicia enjoys crafting, exploring new places, hanging out with her dog son, Kobi, and watching Hawkeye sports.
